He has spent much of the last decade directing the Caribbean Religions Project, an international collaborative project supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council and the Ford Foundation. The results of the project have been published in The Encyclopedia of Caribbean Religions (University of Illinois Press, 2013, edited with Frederick I. Case) and an earlier edited collection, Nation Dance: Religion, Identity and Cultural Difference in the Caribbean (Indiana University Press, 2001).
